Glass packaging for food - safe and healthy!

We meet glass packaging every day. We use them at home, where they are used, among other things, to store food products. We also see glass bottles and jars on store shelves, because glass is an excellent packaging material for food, cosmetics, and other industrial products. In the era of growing interest in ecology and ecological lifestyle, glass packaging for food is becoming more and more popular. What's more, they are still associated with prestige and are perceived by consumers much more positively than plastic ones.

Glass packaging for food - durability goes hand in hand with ecology

Packaging made of glass is extremely durable and decomposes very slowly. It is estimated that the process of their decay takes up to 4,000 years, so the glass is an ideal material for multiple recycling. The use and segregation of glass packaging allow you to take care of the environment because a discarded glass bottle or jar can return to the production process after about 60 days. Therefore, it is worth putting on glass food packaging whenever possible and choose them alternately for plastic packaging every day.

The use of glass packaging for food

Any type of food can be stored in glass containers without losing its original qualities, such as taste, chemical composition, or smell. What's more, glass does not react chemically with the contents of the package or with the environment, thanks to which it allows for longer preservation of the nutritional value of food products, protecting them, for example, against sunlight (tinted glass). Glass jars can be used to pack, among others, fruit, vegetable, and meat preserves, as well as various types of creams for spreading sandwiches, honey or butter. On the other hand, glass bottles contain all kinds of liquids, such as water, beverages, beers or other alcohols, and high-quality vegetable oils.

Glass packaging is safe and hygienic

Glass is a safe material not only because it does not react with the environment or its content, but also because it does not contain any harmful chemicals that could be released into food, e.g. when heated. Thanks to this, glass packaging guarantees that the food will not be contaminated with undesirable chemical compounds. What's more, the structure of the glass makes it much easier to keep bottles or jars clean. The perfectly smooth material does not create an environment conducive to the multiplication of bacteria. In addition, glass containers can be easily disinfected with boiling water or steam.

Glass packaging for food and their advantages

Glass packaging for food has many advantages, both from the point of view of producers and consumers of food products. Since glass can be molded, glass packages take any shape - from classic preserving jars, through minimalist jars with a simple shape, to jars with a more sophisticated line. Their advantage is also resistance to very low and very high temperatures. Glass containers can be heated in a microwave oven and washed in a dishwasher. They are suitable not only for refrigeration but also for freezing. They are therefore a very versatile packaging also for the consumer, who, after using their contents, can use the jar or bottle as a storage container, lunch box, or even a decorative object for further decoration.
